SUPER BOWL WEEK IS STARTING!
Super Bowl LV is almost here: The lineup is set and the game is fast approaching. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Kansas City Chiefs in the Bucs' Raymond James Stadium -- an NFL first.
Every year, the Super Bowl brings big thrills to football fans across the country, pitting the Conference champions against each other for a chance to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy. And despite the truly wild ride this year has been, the tradition continues in Tampa Bay, Florida on February 7, 2021. Super Bowl LV will follow strict CDC guidelines to ensure safe outdoor experiences, including socially distanced seating, requiring masks, installing hand sanitizing stations, regularly testing staff, and utilizing mobile ticketing for contactless entry.
As with everything else in these difficult times, the pandemic has had a major effect on sports, and The Super Bowl will be no exception. But even if you can't host the kind of big, indoor watch party you might have in other years (and—fingers crossed—you'll be able to do again next year) you can still celebrate with a few choice Super Bowl appetizers.
If you are new to football, you're probably wondering why the players look so bulky under their jerseys. As you probably suspect, it's because they wear lots of padding to protect their bodies as much as possible against the effect of the jarring collisions that occur on every single play.
All that equipment is mandatory, and with good reason: it is extremely necessary to prevent, or at the very least, reduce the risk of injury from playing what is generally acknowledged to be a sport with one of - if not the - highest rates of injury.
And of course, stand proudly for your team.
