WHAT TO DO WHILE WAITING FOR PHIL'S SHADOW?
Every year on February 2 people keep an eye out for a groundhog's shadow to help predict what the weather will be like for the next few weeks. The legend goes that if groundhog Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow we will have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't, spring will arrive early.
Phil is not new to the forecasting game. The ceremony has been going on since 1887. Scientifically speaking, winter will officially come to an end on the equinox on March 20, regardless of what Phil predicts. But Mother Nature doesn't always follow the timetable.
Whatever Punxsutawney Phil says, we better start preparing for spring on time.
As much as we all try to stick to our workout routines no matter what, the cold weather and shorter days during the winter often lead to less working out and more Netflixing.
